In 2015-2016, I worked as the Coordinator for Writing Consultants at the Graduate Writing Lab in the Yale Center for Teaching and Learning.
In this capacity, I managed a team of graduate students, working closely with the Director of the GWL, I assisted with the development of writing resources, and I promoted outreach and visibility for our writing programs. As a Writing Consultant myself, I met individually with graduate students to workshop and develop their writing skills, helping with all genres from dissertation chapters, to grant proposals, to articles for publication, to writing related to coursework. My particular specialty is working with non-native English speakers.
Online educational resources I have written can be found on the website above, and include:
- “Choosing a Venue for Your Article in the Humanities” (Spring 2016)
- “Adverb Clauses” (Fall 2015)
- “Regular and Irregular Verbs” (Fall 2015)
Outside of Yale, I served as the Graduate Student Liaison to the Board of the American Oriental Society for the 2015-2017 term. In this role, I worked closely with members of the Board and graduate student and early career members of the AOS to build communities, enhance support systems, and address common concerns. I worked with a team of motivated graduate students to create initiatives and resources that assist students as they transition into professional scholars and that support the retention of graduate students and early career scholars in the professional organization and academia in general. In 2013 and 2015, I worked as a Museum and Library Assistant in the Babylonian Collection at Yale University. My responsibilities included optimizing user access in the reading rooms, maintenance of the collections, and research assistance.
